Sr Abel de Conceicao has been visiting Melbourne from 27 April-10 May 2009 on a study tour, at the invitation of the Friends of Aileu Community Committee and Moreland and Hume City Councils.

Sr Abel was born in Laulara, in Aileu District and lives in Aileu Town. He has a degree in Development Studies from the Timor-Leste National University, and has worked as a teacher, trainer and a human resources officer, prior to his appointment as Assistant District Administrator of Aileu in 2008. He speaks fluent Tetum and Bahasa Indonesia, and some English and Portuguese.
